I don’t entirely disagree with that, but I think some of these, let’s say,


Overly simplistic notions about the existence of the concept of gender help to weaponize the issue against the cause you are talking about. It seems batshit crazy to me to claim that “gender does not exist”.

The point is tolerance and acceptance of gender dysphoria, as I see it. Not that “gender does not exist”. Because as a purely factual matter, gender exists, and a minority of human beings do not identify as being the gender of their birth.

We wind up arguing about the existence of gender, and the side purporting to defend gay rights goes down a rabbit hole of defense of something that can’t be defended - which is that there is no such thing as “gender”. The real issues of tolerance and acceptance are lost.

And if dems start losing elections, as this NYT article is sort of “worrying about”, the likely outcome in many jurisdictions is a whipsaw to the other extreme, including, perhaps, less tolerance and acceptance of those dealing with gender dysphoria.
